The Parks & Recreation Commission is working with City staff on developing the 2020-2024 Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) to guide decisions about City owned parks and recreation facilities in the community for the next five years. The CORP is different from the Strategic Plan also being developed right now. The CORP focuses on parks and recreation facilities and the Strategic Plan focuses on the entire City as a whole. Having an up-to-date CORP not only will assist the Park & Recreation Commission in the prioritization of projects, but it also opens grant opportunities for park projects.
Community members have the opportunity to be involved in the CORP development process in the following ways:
- Needs Assessment Survey - Please take some time to complete the Needs Assessment Survey available online and at City Hall, 710 S. Janesville Street. The Parks & Recreation Commission values the input from the community during this process. The deadline to complete the survey is September 14.
- Public Input Meeting - The Parks & Recreation Commission will be hosting a virtual Public Input Meeting on Thursday, September 10, at 6 p.m. Staff will provide a brief overview of the City of Milton park system, and then open the meeting up for discussion on improvements or changes community members want to see at the parks. More information on this meeting will be available in the coming weeks.
If there are any questions about the process, please contact Administrative Services Director Inga Cushman at (608) 868-6900 ext. 5 or by email at icushman@milton-wi.gov.
