Finding new uses for older buildings is challenging in good times and bad. This session will lay out the top reasons for commercial building vacancies in many historic commercial districts. Learn about some of the simple and inexpensive approaches for dealing with problem real estate, such as simple façade improvements, effective marketing efforts, etc. Strategies will be provided to combat each, along with case studies and resources.
The session is taking place at the Milton House Museum, 18 S. Janesville Street, Milton, WI 53563. The session starts at 2 p.m. and will be about 75 minutes. This session is open to all Wisconsin residents.
The session presented as a collaboration between the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and the City of Milton Historic Preservation Commission.

The City of Milton Historic Preservation Commission has arranged for two optional activities:
FREE tour of the Milton House Museum, National Historic Landmark and part of the National Network to Freedom, at 12:30 p.m.
Networking Reception following the program at Northleaf Winery, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Enjoy wine, cheese, and conversation. Cost is $10.
